First off, I already bought my Dramamine to avoid motion sickness, but I wanted to know if there some added things/tricks to do on the plane to minimize motion sickness?
Also, I my flight will be about 5 hours...I would like to get a variety of ideas on people's favorite past times to do during this time, thanks! How do avoid motion sickness while flying, also some good past times while flying?Airliners typically hardly move at all while in cruise; only about 0.1% of passengers on an airliner experience any motion sickness.
However, you can reduce the chances of motion sickness even further with several tricks or techniques:
1. Sit by a window and look outside.
2. Do not read or watch things inside the cabin (like videos) during the flight.
3. Try not to get bored; boredom makes it easier to feel sick.
4. Drink Coca-Cola to ease your stomach, or ginger ale. Make sure it's extremely cold, if possible.
5. Turn on the gasper (the unfortunate name for the little air vent above your head) and let cool air blow on you, especially your face.
6. If you can, tilt the seat back and try to rest in a reclining position. This is only necessary if you already feel a bit queasy.
7. Find something interesting to occupy you. Music can help, or talking with other passengers.
8. Don't move your head quickly or often.
Anyway, unless you have a history of motion sickness, you probably won't feel sick at all during the flight, so relax. Airplanes are much less prone to produce sickness than cars or ships. How do avoid motion sickness while flying, also some good past times while flying?Maybe if you don't look out the window often it might help. Um you can bring a portable DVD player, notepad, camera, ipod, book/magazine, and a blanket incase u get cold or wanna sleep.
