Why does the study of oscillations start with "simple harmonic motion" . What is so "simple" about?

this? It is really complicated imo. What is the level beyond this? (complex motion..)?Why does the study of oscillations start with "simple harmonic motion" . What is so "simple" about?It is simple when compared to "complex harmonic motion"............with luck, one day you will be sweating it out with that,too.
