How would you reverse the direction of motion in a linear object?

Here is an easier one to answer:

How would you change the direction of motion in one tributary of a two-tributary linear object? How would you reverse the direction of motion in a linear object? If the object was moving on a straight line in a linear manner then by Newtons First Law it experiences no acceleration. It might be called a linear object. To reverse its direction requires it to be decelerated at the necessary rate and for the sufficient time.

But the tributary of an object is not an aspect of objects that I have yet understood. Do you?How would you reverse the direction of motion in a linear object?hold a gigantic mirror beside it
