If motion measured relative to stationary point then is it will be right to assume earth is stationary?

Motion is measured relative to a reference point. This point can be located anywhere. The reference point is not moving because movement defined in term of change in distance. The reference point is always located in the same distance (0) from itself. If the reference point is earth then earth is stationary and the entire universes is revolving around planet earth.If motion measured relative to stationary point then is it will be right to assume earth is stationary?You can certainly create a reference system assuming a fixed Earth. For observational purposes, celestial coordinates are done like that, and it would be very awkward to use any other coordinate system. However, the physics works out best using an inertial reference, that is, one in which accelerations can be explained in terms of forces acting on the bodies. It works if you just talk about Sun and the Earth since you can use either as a reference. It, however, could not explain stars' parallax motion, Venus' phase change, among many other observations. The point is that you can use whatever reference you please, it doesn't change the physics. True. But you must understand that the universe is moving relative to earth AND VICE VERSA!



From a mathemathical standpoint, it does not matter.
