Is there a need for a motion sensor?

If you have the sensors on all the doors, what is the need for a motion detector? Won't the alarm go off as soon as someone breaks into the house? Is there a need for a motion sensor?yes, but a light shining on them BEFORE they break a window and get in is a good thing. Is there a need for a motion sensor?Sometimes the light coming on is a deterrent. Also, it saves electricity %26amp; your bulbs, since the light isn't on all night. The light coming on attracts attention. Is there a need for a motion sensor?Let me guess, you have a 'Brinks' or similar security system that has switches on all the doors (3) and one motion detector inside the house, am I right?

I'm not a fan of these systems because typically they don't have switches on the house's windows. The motion detector will detect people only AFTER they have broken in. Also, motion detectors can register false alarms if you have pets.

The houses where I've built alarm systems have switches / sensors on ALL openings (doors+windows) and rarely have motion detectors. It is almost impossible to bypass a magnetic contact switch on a door or window without setting off an alarm violation.

If possible have a technician versed in alarm systems put switches on all the openings of your house. Is there a need for a motion sensor?
the best defense is a great offence....get yourself a good shotgun and use pellet shells ( not slugs)....the pellets will spred when fired so you wont need to aim properly...just shot in there general direction and that will stop them from coming in for sure
