What good quality commercially-available camera will I choose for stop motion animation?

Is Camera 3CCD 24p (Panasonic 100B) okay to buy for stop motion animation? I know this is commonly used for digital films but is it also good for stop motion animation. Or should I buy a digital photo camera with high pixel capacities instead?What good quality commercially-available camera will I choose for stop motion animation?for stop motion I would recommend a very high res digital still camera.
