I'm not really good with figuring out setting on my canan rebel xt. Anyone know how I can capture fast motion pictures such as a ball dropping into a puddle of water, yet still caught the water splashes? What is a good setting to capture fast motion objects on a canon rebel xt?What you need is a fast shutter speed. One way to do that on the XT is to set your mode to Shutter Priority (also called Time Value and labeled Tv).
When you set your shutter speed - try 1/500 of a second, or even faster, like 1/1000 of a second, the camera will pick the proper aperture to give you the correct exposure. Note, unless it is a pretty sunny day, you will probably wind up with a large aperture (which will depend on your lens - but maybe F4 or so?).
If your lens can't handle that exposure due to the lighting, you will need to bump you ISO from 100 to 200, 400 or even 800.
If you go up to ISO 800, you may see some noise. Remember to set your ISO back to 100 or 200 when you are done.
Good luck! What is a good setting to capture fast motion objects on a canon rebel xt?125th of a second with flash will do it, or 500th or so with no flash - put your cam onto Tv mode and dial in the shutter speed you want - consult your manual if you need to
