Why do some dogs chase people when they're riding their bikes or anything in motion?Dogs that chase people when riding their bikes or anything in motion?They have a higher prey drive than other dogs. I have found that a lot of herding dogs do this. It is like they are herding sheep. They are trigured by the movement. Other breeds do it too, but you'll see it a lot in the herding breeds. It's just something that is either fun to do, or threatening to them.



For my father's dog, it's the latter. Anything on wheels, is threatening to her, and therefore she feels the desire to attack. My father learned quick to keep a good hold of the leash.
This is an instinct referred to as "Prey Drive" basically, something is running, and they see it as a target, for some dogs probably more in an innocent way, however. It's just natural, my Huskies chase, and attack anything that moves (Insects, birds, squirrels, cats, rodents, snakes, etc.)
