What programs do big news networks use for their motion graphics?

I am amazed on how much detail and work is put in to the motion graphics the news networks use and I want to know what programs do they use. If you don't know what im talking about, im talking about the fancy graphics or "special effects" that for ex. Fox News (including the local Fox News channels), ESPN, CNN, HLN, BBC, The Today Show, MSNBC ect. What programs do big news networks use for their motion graphics? My teacher worked for one of them. Adobe After Effects is a major one, especially for 2D graphics. Adobe Flash, Photoshop and Illustrator are also good to have.

For 3D graphics, Maya, 3ds Max, Cinema 4d.What programs do big news networks use for their motion graphics?Like he said, After Effects. The graphics are usually created from Photoshop and Illustrator, and 3D graphics are made with Cinema 4D.
