Why does my motion detector light stay on?

It was performing as it should (hence motion detector) and lately the light just comes on and stays on. I have tilted the sensor and tried changing the timer.

I can't leave it on all the time, the light is just outside my bedroom window.

What's the dealio here? Any ideas? Why does my motion detector light stay on?I would guess the sensor went bad. That is very common. The contacts seem to stick together and won't turn off.Why does my motion detector light stay on?
bad sensor, somthing blocking the sensor port, ie spider web,Why does my motion detector light stay on?You probably have the sensitivity on it turned up to high and its picking up trees blowing in the windWhy does my motion detector light stay on?
Two possible solutions:

Wipe the lense. Possibly cob webs are covering it enough that it thinks it is dark out.

If this light is on a light switch, turn the switch off, wait fifteen seconds, then turn the switch back on. Newer motion detector lights can be turned on permanently by turning the light off then on quickly. Why does my motion detector light stay on?Clean the sensor area. It may have dust/dirt on it. Also look around....Is there something directly in the line of the sensor that makes it look like something is there? It may also be time to change the unit. From what I have learned they only last a couple of years. Why does my motion detector light stay on?
The same thing happens to my motion sensor light out of the back of the house. It just needs to be reset every now and then for no explicable reason. It should be on its own circuit, just turn it off for a few mins, then bqck on and the light should go out itself.
