How do I connect my house floodlights to a motion sensor (intruder deterrent)?

My house is in the country, no streetlights. We have unfortunately had a few unwanted visits after dark. How do we connect our floodlights to a motion sensor, so the grounds will be lit up as soon as he approaches? You can get a remote motion sensor to put out by your street or mailbox and it will turn on any light with a module you wire to your lights. The kit is less than $30 on eBay.
