How do Newton's three laws of motion apply to the egg drop experiment?

I'm doing an egg drop experiment for my College Prep Physics class. We will be dropping the egg off of the second story stair well at school. I need to know how Newton's three laws of motion apply to this experiment. Any ideas? How do Newton's three laws of motion apply to the egg drop experiment?Newton's 1st law, of inertia. An object at rest stays at rest unless acted upon an outside force, and an object in motion stays in motion in a straight line and constant velocity unless acted upon by an outside force. Over here, that other force would be air resistance.
