Canon Powershot SX20 IS, how to focus on a person but blur in the back?
How do you focus on the person face or body (which ever) but blur the background out?
Also How do you take pictures with a lot of motion on it, for example running so it comes out perfectly? I tried continous shots and sport setting but it hasnt worked. How do you take pictures with a lot of motion on it Canon Powershot SX20 IS?To get those creamy, blurred backgrounds, it's almost impossible to do with a compact digital camera. You have to do it in software, and it rarely looks natural and it's almost not worth the time or money. You'll need a dSLR or a compact with a large sensor, but those are expensive.
If you want to stop a runner or anything else moving fast, the easiest way is to get into the camera's menu and increase the ISO. You might have to get out of auto mode to do this. If you are in daylight outside, bump the ISO to 400, that should freeze just about all the movement you could encounter. If that doesn't work, increase again to 800. The downside is that as you go up, noise or grain in the image will increase, and you lose detail. But it's better to get a grainy something than a blurred nothing.
