  • Through how many revolutions does the tub turn while its is in motion?

A tub of a washing machine goes into its spin cycle, starting from rest and gaining angular speed steadily for 8.00 s, at which time it is turning at 5.00 rev/s. At this point, the person doing the laundry opens the lid and a safety switch turns off the machine. The tub smoothly slows to rest in 12.0 s. Through how many revolutions does the tub turn while its is in motion?Through how many revolutions does the tub turn while its is in motion?Consider linear motion with acceleration v = u + at and v^2 = u^2 + 2as

Here angular angle described p (or turns of revolution) is comparable to s, acceleration alpha (written a) is comparable to a, v and u are comparable to angular speed omega (written w). So then,

    while speeding up: a = w/t = 5/8 revs/s^2

    p = w^2 / 2a = 5^2 / 2 (5/8) = ... revs

    while stopping: a = -w/t = -5/12 revs/s^2

    p = -w^2 / 2a = 5^2 / 2 (5/12) = ... revs

Adding the two, the total turns = ... revs

Why do I have problems using CFLs with motion sensor outlets?

I have tried to replace bulbs in three different motion sensor fixtures with CFLs and had problems with all. The ones in my garage will turn on, but the lights will start to flicker within a couple minutes. The fixtures on the outside of my garage, will turn on when the motion sensor is activated, but do not shut off after 10 minutes as they should. All of these fixtures work fine with incandescent bulbs in them. All of the bulbs/fixtures I have replaced inside work fine with the CFLs, and I have tried to switch those bulbs with the outside ones, and had the same problems. My temperatures in Chicago have been moderate, 50s-80s, over the last couple weeks, so I wouldn't think that would be the problem. Help! Why do I have problems using CFLs with motion sensor outlets?most motion sensors are constantly drawing a small portion of the power requirement from the circuit to keep operaational.

CFL or all fluorescent bulbs are made to use the full 120volts supplied by regulated AC current which is stepped up to a higher voltage in order to fire the gasses inside the fluorescent bulb.

IF the power gets below 120v, like, say 108, or 105 volts, a regular incandescent bulb will actually last LONGER, while the drop in voltage will not allow the fluorescent to fire completely.

That's why you get the flicker affect, and probably will find that they won't last very long. Why do I have problems using CFLs with motion sensor outlets? You may want to conact the manufacturer of the CFL and inquire but I know that you are not suppossed to use the CFL on Dimmers or Timers. I'd be fairly certain that they would not ideally be used for that application either.

The atoms and molecules in a gas are in constant motion. Temperature is a measure of this motion. How are these related?

As temperature increases, the molecules and atoms move faster.

As temperature decreases, the molecules and atoms move farther apart.

As temperature increases, the atoms and molecules move slower.

As temperature decreases, the molecules and atoms move faster. The atoms and molecules in a gas are in constant motion. Temperature is a measure of this motion. How are thes?the first statement is correct because temperature is a mesure of thermal energy and thermal energy is (to put it simply) particles vibrating- obviously vibration is a form of movment which is kinetic energy. therefor as the gas heats its temperature increases and so does the kinetic energy causing it to move faster and further apart (as they can more easily overcome the intermolecular forces) which causes the gas to expand. The atoms and molecules in a gas are in constant motion. Temperature is a measure of this motion. How are thes?Temperature is directly related to kinetic energy of molecules which means that only the first answer, "As temperature increases, the molecules and atoms move faster." is correct.

What is uniformly accelerated linear motion?

Please give me the definition of the uniformly accelerated linear motion. Thanks. What is uniformly accelerated linear motion?Motion implies momentum, which implies velocity. Linear implies a straight line. Accelerating implies changing velocity. And uniform implies constancy.

So, when a body moves in a straight line and accelerates at a constant rate, the body is said to have an uniformly accelerated linear motion. What is uniformly accelerated linear motion? It means a motion with constant acceleration, and constantly rising velocity, if a = x m/s^2, so in every second the velocity rises by x m/s, for simulation :

Object D moves with initial velocity of 8 m/s and constant acceleration of 5 m/s^2, calculate it's velocity and distance by the 5th second.

    Velocity : 8 m/s + 5 m/s^2 X 5 s = 8 m/s + 25 m/s = 33 m/s

    Distance : 8 m/s X 5 s + 1/2 X 5 m/s^2 X 25 s^2 = 40 m + 62.5 m = 102.5 mWhat is uniformly accelerated linear motion?the exact definition would be:

a body is said to be under uniform accelerated linear motion when the body experiences increase in its speed with change in time while maintaining its path as straight line.

What does my f/stop and shutter speed need to captured blurred motion on my SLR?

I have a photo assignment to capture blurred motion and I thought I was shooting it right but apparently I wasn't. I just need to know what the ideal shutter speed and f/stop would be for a sunny day outside so I can get some blurred images. What does my f/stop and shutter speed need to captured blurred motion on my SLR?It depends on how fast the subject is moving that you want to blur! Is it a person walking? Water flowing? Car driving past?

Bear in mind that if its a sunny day and you want a slowish shutter speed, then you are going to have to stop down the aperture considerably. You may not be able to stop it down enough if you want a longish exposure. You'd then have to consider using a neutral density filter to cut the light down.

If you look at sunny 16 rule, assuming you shoot at ISO 100, then on a bright sunny day, your shutter speed/aperture combination starts with 1/125 (nearest whole stop) at f16

If you want to shoot at 1/30 sec, that's 2 stops more light, so you have to stop down 2 stops - which means f32 - not all lenses stop down this far.

If you buy a 3 stop ND filter, you can shoot at 1/30 sec and an aperture of f11.What does my f/stop and shutter speed need to captured blurred motion on my SLR?
Panning is the only way to get blurred motion and make it look right. The shutter speed is determined by subject distance and speed.

How fast is the car going, and how far away? 1/60 would be a good starting point for a car moving 40MPH. As you go slower on shutter speed, you get more motion, but also more blown shots.

Position your body to track the subject, fire and follow through. You want to be firing at the apex of the turn with your body.

    here's more on panning:

    http://www.cgipix.com/Photography_Shutte鈥?/a>

    here's a motorcycle taken at 1/200 second:

    http://www.cgipix.com/Portfolio_Motorcyc鈥?/a>

much slower and the bike would have ended up with too much blur. He was also doing 100+MPH through the turn, and was less than 20 yards away. What does my f/stop and shutter speed need to captured blurred motion on my SLR?On a sunny day, if you want correctly exposed images, use a higher f number, definitely above 8.

I would use a shutter speed [Depending on the f stop, of 30th-100th of a second, 30th would be the blurriest.]What does my f/stop and shutter speed need to captured blurred motion on my SLR?
    deep blue2 is right.

Try using a long lens and panning with the action. What does my f/stop and shutter speed need to captured blurred motion on my SLR?I did something like this in the 60's.

Cool. And if memory serves, I got a papal dispensation from the instructor as I was quite strapped for cash at the time and was allowed to use asa 32 b%26amp;w kodak film to do the assignment.

And that made the assignment quite easy.

With any film, use asa for shutter speed. And F-16 for the aperture. On a bright sunlight day.

So. With asa 32 film, I used a shutter speed of 1/30 sec at F-16.

The other faster shutter speed I could use was 1/60 sec at F-22. And that was the fastest I could go because my camera did not have another aperture smaller.

The other shutter speeds went even slower and using a camera tripod for most of the pics I took, the assignment went quite easily.

    To easily.

So. I remembered some pics from a book, titled The Family of Man, plus some other photo magazines then in circulation and began my quest. Sounds great ! And it was.

I hopped a bus down town and snapped pics of riders, smeared recognizable landmarks, smeared oncoming traffic and landscape, did same with scenes and had traffic going away with trucks and other autos going my way in kinda sorta focus to reasonable focus. One lucky snap had a recognizable face ! And that was a blast. Found person months later and gave a copy of pic to him.

The fall Alaska Fair or whatever it was called was weeks away and later I did the assignment with neutral density filters and Kodak tri-x film. I rode on every ride, shutter snapping at speeds of 1/30, 1/15, 1/8, 1/4, 1/2, 1 second, 2 seconds. But by then I had learned some things. I talked with the managers of the fair and got a pass for free rides, id., and asked some people if I could take pics of them telling them I would take first of them with fast enough shutter speed for them to be recognizeable, and the rest with slow shutter speeds for a photo assignment.

Long story short, I got sick on some rides.

Day started out bright and sunny, worked through night till closing.

Shot like 10 36 exposure rolls film.

Got a decent grade on the assignment.

And made a small fortune selling pics of people and fair.

What do you call a motion for the judge to give you an explanation?

i filed a motion in court. the judge denied it. i want an explanation, is there a special latin term or something for that, or do i just put it in layman's terms? thanks. What do you call a motion for the judge to give you an explanation?Hire no lawyer and present yourself as a "pro-si" litigant, I believe this is the term which makes the judge explain things to you and insures that he protects your rights. Read more at originalintent.org

Also remember that judges are corrupt and believe they can "rule from the bench" which they are not allowed to as they are there to make sure your rights are protected, if they do not then they are corrupt and not following their "oath of office" but be careful as the judicial system is full of corruption. Try researching the rules of the court at findlaw.com and if the judge is corrupt file a complaint and get a change in venue, but be careful as all judges are corrupt and they protect each other. They are not allowed to rule from the bench, but they do as they feel they are god. They have a respectful position but they abuse it. Change the venue there are rules. We cannot stop corrupt judges as only the appeals process might change things. The judicial system is CORRUPT as is LAW Enforcement. I have proof of many court officers committing illegal acts and police being criminals but who can you complain to, the police--they are worthless criminals also--good luck

Check out rules of the courtWhat do you call a motion for the judge to give you an explanation? There is no such motion. If your motion was met with an opposition in a response to your motion, then the judge rules in favor of the opposition, that is the reason the motion was denied. You need to learn the rules and procedure of that court. Seems as if your asking about getting into personal conversations about a judges ruling. You could write a letter to the judge, maybe he/she will answer.

    INTRODUCTION

Mnemonics (pronounced "ne-mon'-ics") is the art of assisting the memory by using a system of artificial aids - rhymes, rules, phrases, diagrams, acronyms and other devices - all to help in the recall of names, dates, facts and figures.

    Basic mnemonics

These mnemonics can be applied immediately, although it certainly pays off to practice them first. All of these mnemonics are based on elaboration and association, which why we start out with these. Elaboration adds more meaning to a word, while association makes sure that two words are thoroughly linked together in memory.

  • Are all forms of energy either motion or the ability to put matter into motion?

Even e=mcc seems like it is about motion because mass is relating energy with acceleration in

    F*d = E = m*a*d

and then when you lose mass in fusion reactions then you get energy from the mass in a form of heat/motion.

Chemical energy also is about electron orbits and their ability to be in motion. Right? Are all forms of energy either motion or the ability to put matter into motion?Yes, because the *definition* of energy is the capacity to perform work, and work is force (i.e. acceleration per mass) over a distance. Are all forms of energy either motion or the ability to put matter into motion?what about photons? they dont have mass, but they have enegry. i mean im not disagreeing with you. im just posing a questionAre all forms of energy either motion or the ability to put matter into motion? All energy has the ability to be transformed into another type of energy, presuming a 100% efficient transformation. In all real transformations, some energy is dissipated as heat.

You can argue that all energy exists because something is in motion, or because something has energy because of its location.

Do not listen to the poster who previously talked about photons. Photons do have an effective mass, and photons are in motion. Photons have zero rest mass, only because they don't exist at rest. Are all forms of energy either motion or the ability to put matter into motion?
You can describe energy as resting in sense of E=mc^2 means a potential energy a particle has like electron .510 m/ev or up quark 11 m/ev. Though no body has absolute rest according to Newton but it does have a physical energy. It's like saying would the Universe be born without motion. Obiviously no it would not be born so energy can be intrepet as motion in sense it manifest itself a lot as it. An to the photon thing photon really only travels constantly because it has no mass, no conservation laws, and no applying to Newtons Laws. It does get slowed down by gravity but so slight because gravity is very weak .That is because gravity is negative energy which explains Hawking Radiation and creation of virtual particles. The fusion relates to potential energy of paricle and a isolated system or another name the fundamental interaction equilibrium. An example is Aurora Borealis where not only does the thermal or kinetic energy of particle determine wavelength (high frequency more energy) of photon emitted but the .510 m/ev of electron adds to creation of a gamma ray, muon, tauon etc. Chemical reactions are same and conservation of thermal energy of atom is reason why flames are blue on bottom.

Also if you gain mass from kinetic energy than you would only be twice your mass at speed of light 186,000 miles per second. That is definetely not enough to effect you but does change time like Twin Paradox says. That equation you have is for Newton Laws which applies to kinetic energy of body not reactions.

Heat does effect particle mass a lot and is one many reasons why particle accelarators can create a 100 m/ev W boson. So don't associate energy with motion because its like trying to define Universe without living in it. Energy is only intrepetation of the mind.

    Hope this helps you

It's hard to think of a reason it's good for you that their lawyer quit, the most frequent reason a lawyer signs off is because he isn't getting paid.

It sounds like the company is ready to settle, let's hope they don't start the negotiation by saying they are headed for bankruptcy. When an attorney files a motion to withdraw, how long does it take for him to be relieved from the client?I do agree with saved_by... Is there a full motion wall mount that will actually sit flush against the wall?

I'm looking for a full motion wall mount but would love it if I could get one that could retract against the wall and sit flush. Does this even exist or am I asking for something that breaks the laws of physics? Is there a full motion wall mount that will actually sit flush against the wall?Obviously Doc W is correct. This is not an easy mount to install. To properly level this mount you will need two people. I would suggest if you have never done this to hire a professional. Is there a full motion wall mount that will actually sit flush against the wall?Does not exist - the better ones will get the TV very close to the wall but not flush unless you cut a hole in the wall that the TV could recess into. I know how to do it changing the number in properties but it keeps the clip to the same size ie. it will make a 30 sec clip if i do slow motion .5 it will only show the first 30 seconds instead of all 60...is there a way to keep it so it automatically does it instead of dragging it trying to make it perfect? How to do slow motion and fast foward in Vegas 7?Slowing motion is a beaut of an idea

How do I make fast and slow motion videos on the new Windows Live Movie Maker?

I have a video that needs to be in fast motion, but I cant find the fast motion button. does anyone know how to do this... Keep in mind this is Windows LIVE Movie Maker, not the old one for XP and VISTA. Thanks for reading. How do I make fast and slow motion videos on the new Windows Live Movie Maker? You can't do that with Windows Live Movie Maker since it is a stripped-down version of v2.6.

The Slow down, Half, Speed up, Double effects are only available in the 2.6 version of Windows Movie Maker.

You are also missing many other features such as "Take Picture from Preview" as well. And too, you can't add GIF animations either, since a Time-line view is non-existent to increase the frames on.

If you want to use any of the above-mentioned features, you will need to download the v2.6 version to compliment the Windows Live version you already have. You can download it from here:

I have both versions of Windows Movie Maker and Windows Live Movie Maker on my computer, just in case one stops working... I can use the other.

What's the easiet way to make a short, stop motion film?

What's the easiet way to make a short, stop motion film? I have a digital camera or a webcam to work with? Which should I use and how should I use it?What's the easiet way to make a short, stop motion film?If you're just starting out and have never done stop motion before, I would suggest using the webcam. The advantages are that most animation and stop motion programs will be able to recognize your webcam signal and you'll be able to take pictures from within the program. This removes the added step of having to import images separately. This also means you can preview your images quicker and see your mistakes, and it makes it easier to shoot replacement or added images directly into your shot sequence. The downside is that mot webcams don't do that well in low light conditions, and you'll usually be restricted to shooting at a resolution 640 X 480 pixels.

The upside of shooting with a digital camera is that you can shoot in high res. However, most digital cameras can't be used with most animation software. You'd have to shoot blind, which means shooting your entire image sequence, then importing all the images onto your computer and compiling them into a movie. Only then will you be able to tell what your animation looks like in movement.

If you're doing old school drawn on paper frame by frame stuff or stop-motion, I'd suggest MonkeyJam. It's free.

Would it void copyright to use action figures in a stop motion video?

Would it void copyright to use action figures in a stop motion video? For example in the show Robot Chicken does the show have to get permission for every figure they use or is it protected under parody?Would it void copyright to use action figures in a stop motion video? The legal definition of "parody" under a fair use defense is actually much narrower than what you might think of parody in the entertainment sense. People often confuse parody (which is a strong fair use argument) with satire (which is not a fair use argument).

Under the legal definition, a parody is a work that ridicules another, usually well-known work, by imitating it in a comic way. That is, parody uses the original work to comment on the original work. On the other hand, satire refers to the use of an existing work to seek attention or profit, criticize society generally, or criticize something besides the original work.

    http://www.menc.org/v/general_music/copy鈥?/a>

I'm not familiar enough with the show Robot Chicken to give you any sort of opinion with respect to that specific show. However, suffice it to say that copyright issues are rarely cut and dry. Most networks have dedicated copyright attorneys (in-house or outside counsel) that deal with copyright clearance issues on a regular basis.

What does th term "red shift" refer to and what does it tell us about the motion of other galaxies relative to the earth? How can we tell the light from other galaxies is red-shifted?What does th term "red shift" refer to and what does it tell us about the motion of other galaxies?"red shift" refers to the seemingly red appearance of objects moving away from a point, (objects coming closer to a point appear blue) this is due to the proportional increase in its wavelength. When looking at galaxies, if, when detecting its electromagnetic radiation outside the spectrum of visible light, they appear red (in some cases a deeper red than others) this then indicates that the galaxies are moving away from the original point. Theoretically, the universe was derived from one point in time and space, and ever since, it has been expanding outwards into an unknown, unlimited expanse. What does th term "red shift" refer to and what does it tell us about the motion of other galaxies?Red shift is when an object is moving further away.

    For example,

If a galaxy has the greatest red shift, it is moving further away and therefore, it is moving away fastest.

How can I prevent motion sickness on an airplane?

I am flying to Japan on Monday from California so I have a long flight ahead of me. I fly to Europe from here often as well and I always get sick about 8 hours into the flight. I took some motion sickness medication once and I made it all the way through the flight without getting sick. It surprised me because I can ride roller coasters and watch movies in cars without getting sick. Does anybody know of any medication, preferably chewable or liquid that I can run over to the drug store and grab before my trip? How can I prevent motion sickness on an airplane? You can try motion sickness wrist bands. I've only used them twice but they worked. You can find bands at local pharmacy or on-line. Red %26amp; white peppermint candy balls also help me.How can I prevent motion sickness on an airplane?
I don't think you should rely on medicines totally...they surely help, but you can take some other precautions like :

-Avoid big, greasy meals and alcohol the night before air travel.

-Eat light meals or snacks that are low in calories in the 24 hours before air travel.

-Avoid salty foods and dairy products before air travel.

-Sit toward the front of the aircraft or in a seat by the wing.

-Turn the air vent flow toward your face.

If you must take medication then you can do with:

Scopolamine (Transderm Scop) -- most commonly prescribed medication for motion sickness. It must be taken before symptoms start. It is available as a patch form that is placed behind the ear 6 - 8 hours before travel. The effects last up to 3 days. Side effects may include dry mouth, drowsiness, blurred vision, and disorientation.

There are other medications like Promethazine (Phenergan),Cyclizine (Marezine),Dimenhydrinate (Dramamine). How can I prevent motion sickness on an airplane?Dramamine is a great med for motion sickness. My husband always took it when we flew between the States and Japan, and he never got sick. Another option if you don't want to take medication, is to pick up some Sea Bands. I'm a college student who takes the bus to school ever day. It's paid for in my tuition %26amp; fees and parking costs $5/day so I pretty much have no choice but to take it. I've always had bad motion sickness on planes, boats and sometimes cars but lately it's become unbearable on this bus. I can't take dramamine even though that's what I usually do because it makes me super drowsy and obviously I don't want to be falling asleep in class. Does anyone know of any non-drowsy medicine or home remedies that can help me?How to help my motion sickness? There is a pressure point used in Reflexology called P6. Look at the anterior side of your arm. If you feel around on your wrist, you will locate two tendons that are about 1/3 inch apart. The pressure point is about 4 finger-breadths above the point where your wrist bends, in between the tendons. You can use either side; it doesn't matter. Hold firm pressure on this point for 20 seconds or so, and you should feel the nausea subsiding. You can do it as many times as you need to.

If the entire universe is made of energy, then does every motion affect all of us?

Is the universe like a pond, and everyone a drop of water which sends ripples across to every other drop in the pond (and is likewise affected by every other motion)? Are we literally physically connected to everything? If, too, time and space are illusions bred of mind, then is Reality really just One point, containing everything and evolving at once?If the entire universe is made of energy, then does every motion affect all of us?Yes, every object in the Universe affects every other object. Even the gravity of distant stars affects each of us. You could say everyone is physically connected to everything around them.

There are a few exceptions to this:
    - Gravity travels at the speed of light. Therefore objects whose gravitons have not reached us yet do not affect us
    - Since gravity travels at the speed of light, the effects of every objects gravity happen with a delay. The distant star whose gravity is ever-so-slightly pulling us to its direction may have gone supernova a long time ago and not actually exist anymore. But the gravitons in transit to earth still do, so we still feel its gravity.

However, it is not likely space and time are illusions of the mind. And reality cannot be just one point, because concepts like points make no sense outside the context of spacial dimensions, which are properties of our Universe. If the entire universe is made of energy, then does every motion affect all of us?i dont know, but it seems very posible, and makes logical sence

the further out, the less affected , but that doesnt mean not affected at all

i have a personal beleif that yes we re pretty much connected to everything and everyone, some more so than others, maybe cos they are in our nearest ripples ;-)

    ooohh,. this last parts difficult,

is it just one point, i will say no, because tho its all connected it isnt all the one thing

we may be our parents genes, but we are not our parents

so i think its the same as that

great q, love it,made me think

;-)If the entire universe is made of energy, then does every motion affect all of us?No. The Universe is made out of energy. That's it.If the entire universe is made of energy, then does every motion affect all of us?

Other dogs want to play or are being territorial.Dogs that chase people when riding their bikes or anything in motion?
It's just something that is either fun to do, or threatening to them.

For my father's dog, it's the latter. Anything on wheels, is threatening to her, and therefore she feels the desire to attack. My father learned quick to keep a good hold of the leash.
This is an instinct referred to as "Prey Drive" basically, something is running, and they see it as a target, for some dogs probably more in an innocent way, however. It's just natural, my Huskies chase, and attack anything that moves (Insects, birds, squirrels, cats, rodents, snakes, etc.)

What does it mean when a insurance company files for a Motion for Default Judgment?

I was in a wreck last august and didn't have insurance and now the peoples insurance company is suing me for the damages, they sent me a summons to write them and the court and let them know what I was going to do and I never responded and now just today they filed a motion for default judgement. What will happen next??? Someone please help..What does it mean when a insurance company files for a Motion for Default Judgment? You didn't answer, so now they ask the court to recognize that you didn't answer and to issue a judgment in favor of the insurance company. They win, because you blew the court off. If they get the default judgment, the constable or sheriff will be around looking to execute for the amount of the judgment. What they can take depends on your state law. And your credit record will show an outstanding judgment, making it very hard to get a loan of any kind. If there is a hearing date on the motion, show up, and be prepared to tell the judge something, although I have no idea what you can say, since you just decided not to answer the suit. What does it mean when a insurance company files for a Motion for Default Judgment?
The court will enter a judgment against you just as if a jury had ruled against you. It will be valid for many years - 20 in some jurisdictions and it will accrue interest at much better than market rates. As long as it is valid and unpaid, it will allow the insurance company to garnish your wages, seize your bank accounts and lien your property. It will also sink your credit rating.

Get a lawyer. It will cost you but not getting a lawyer may cost you more. What does it mean when a insurance company files for a Motion for Default Judgment? It means that you didn't pay them after they won in court against them and that you have a lien placed against you. If you have property, they can place a lien against the property so if you sell it they'd be paid first. If you won the lottery or came into any type of money they could take their share of it first.

You're pretty much screwed as they'll put it on your credit report and it'll follow you until you pay it.What does it mean when a insurance company files for a Motion for Default Judgment?
They will go into court on the day the Default is scheduled and they will win the law suit against you for every penny they asked for in the original complaint.

Once they get a judgment, they will start coming after you to collect the money. What does it mean when a insurance company files for a Motion for Default Judgment? They well get this judgment It is good for 10 years and they can renew it just before the 10 years are up At any time they go after any asset you may have at the timeWhat does it mean when a insurance company files for a Motion for Default Judgment?

Why does only vertical force affect the motion of projectiles?

In my physics class, we learned that only vertical forces, not horizontal forces, affect the motion of projectiles. I'm having difficulty understanding why this is true. Can someone explain to me how or why horizontal forces don't affect the motion of projectiles? Why does only vertical force affect the motion of projectiles?Any force can affect the motion of projectiles. In HS phyics problems, only gravity(a vertical force) is considered for the purposes of simplicity. In the real world, air, spin drift(in the case of rifled projectiles), coriolis effect and others affect the motion of projectiles, which aren't vertical forces. Why does only vertical force affect the motion of projectiles? Not quite. Vertical motion affects how long the projectile is in the air, because acceleration is in the vertical direction. Horizontal motion tells you how far the projectile will go, because the horizontal motion will continue unchanged as long as the projectile is in the air.

It stops moving when it hits the ground or some other obstacle, and generally that timing is determined by the vertical motion. If it never moved downward, it would never hit the ground.

It means a judge is required to at least consider options outside those set down by the guidelines to order an amount not in keeping with them. However, that applies to both an increase AND/OR decrease in the order. As such, if the judge accepts the motion, your man can make a counter argument for paying less.

As for the Day Care, just subpoena the receipts, or if it's a person, their tax records. So, want to learn how to fight back?

The fact that you don't have any legal ties to the child should be enough to squash the case. Especially since you are not even married yet! But the fact is every 3 years everyone has the right to take the case back to court to see if they can get some more money, or in some cases, see if they can now pay less money!

Why does the image from a pocket projector appear in slow motion when connected to a laptop via USB?

I bought a pocket projector to use with my laptop to make small presentations to clients in small conference rooms. When I tried it, I connected the laptop to the projector using the USB port. The image is ok, although black and white, but, it seems like a slow motion picture?

What am I missing? Why does the image from a pocket projector appear in slow motion when connected to a laptop via USB?Make sure you have latest drivers installed for the projector, check the manufacturer's website for these. Check that the settings are correct for the projector in your laptop's Display Properties

How do I make it so that a person is slow motion on a video but the background is normal?

Is there a program thats lets me select a person or an object, an make that person slow motion and the background normal. How do I make it so that a person is slow motion on a video but the background is normal? What you are describing would be extremely difficult to do from a single footage source. You will need to remove a subject from the background, time-compress the subject, and then re-key it over the background. But with the subject removed, your background will be missing pieces of the picture.

If this is hard to visualize, imagine the subject walks from left to right in front of a crowded street. With the subject removed, you now have a "hole" in your image that moves from left to right. When you place the slowed-down subject back in the picture, you will need to find something else to cover up that hole. This would be easy if the background wasn't moving, but very difficult if anything else moves.

You could do it rather easily, however, if you had a keyed source. For instance, you could film the subject walking across a totally empty street, then cue your crowd and film the scene again without the subject, then use pattern keying to overlay the subject on the crowd at any speed you like.

This question reminds me of Michel Gondry's work. He has figured out a lot of amazing ways to do things cheaply and quickly with video. Google his name for some interesting reading. How do I make it so that a person is slow motion on a video but the background is normal? You can do the reverse, in stop motion effect. Have the subject stand still while the background is doing its thing, if you stop motion it you will get that affect, or you can even make it in fast motion since the person is standing still, it wont affect them foreground as much as the background. How do I make it so that a person is slow motion on a video but the background is normal?Easiest method is chroma key (green screen)

Film the background normally and then flim your person in front of a greenscreen, and with the correct software you can place your person on top of the background, remove the green from the video meaning your subject will be on top of your background video and with editing techniques make him slow motion

  • How can you prevent motion sickness on Roller Coasters?

I get motion sickness on rides, I'm going to Cedar Point tomorrow and I was wondering if anyone had any advice on how to not feel sick to the stomach. How can you prevent motion sickness on Roller Coasters?I travel around and review roller coasters for a hobby, and one of the most important things that you can do is keep your head back in the seat. You won't get a headache, which can lead to motion sickness. You should also try to sit closest as possible to the front as well because it will be worth the wait, and you have less of a chance of feeling nauseous.

Many people advise that someone who suffers motion sickness should also take Dramamine, but I also recommend that you take that along with and Ibuprofen too. To ensure those work, take them at least an hour before riding the coasters.

Another thing to remember is also to DRINK LOADS OF WATER! I cannot stress how important this is, especially after meals at the park. When the brain, senses that the stomach is full, it will send lots of blood to it, so you should drink lots of water to help you digest, and of set the acids in your stomach. You should wait at least an hour after eating as well.

A few alternative things that I do myself, is bring Pepto-Bismol, Tums will not work since they only help with intergestion. Also, if the park offers many flavors of Ice Cream, get a SMALL vanilla shake, which can also help your stomach due to the vanilla, and the milk will neutralize the acid too. If you are not into chemicals, buy some ginger and nibble on it slowly, or use pressure point bands.

For rides you should avoid MaXair, Chaos, Troika, and possibly Skyhawk, and anything that spins. Be cautious when riding wicked twister too, but don't avoid it. If you feel sick on any of these rides, close your eyes and think cozy and happy thoughts, becuase some of your issues may be psychosomatic.

I hope this all helps, and have fun and try not to worry about it!How can you prevent motion sickness on Roller Coasters?
I get motions sickness too, mostly on spinning rides and on rollercoasters that I go on more then 3 times in a row..I take Dramamine, it's cheap and you can purchase them in small containers so it's easy to put it in your pocket and take it with you to the park. It doesn't make me drowsy (I use the regular formula) but there is also a non-drowsy formula. You need to take it 1/2 hour to 1 hour before you hit the rides though for it to kick in - it works great for me, I'll feel great all day no matter how many rides I go on.

    :-D

Good luck! How can you prevent motion sickness on Roller Coasters? If you have motion sickness, then I advise you not to ride a roller coaster. But, you can try the motion-sickness tablets they sell at gas stations, and WalGreen type drugstores. I myself have used Nauzene in a dire situation and it actually took away my nausea. And it doesn't taste like chalky-chemicals.How can you prevent motion sickness on Roller Coasters?

Why do I get motion sickness so much easier than everybody else?

At the fair or at amusement parks, I can't go on any spinning rides or rides that go in circles or I will feel nauseous. I used to be able to go on those rides when I was younger. Did puberty change that? Or is it something else? All of my friends can still go on those rides and not feel sick, and I feel left out when they go on all the rides. I can still go on roller coasters and rides that don't spin without any problems. Why do I get motion sickness so easily? Why do I get motion sickness so much easier than everybody else? Some people just have it worse than others. It's just like height, genetically set. Some people are taller than you and it isn't because they drank more milk than you did. So you get motion sickness easier and it sucks, but some things are just the way they are. Even from a medical standpoint, an inner ear thing or the like would be unlikely without other symptoms. Doesn't hurt to get a check-up anyway. Why do I get motion sickness so much easier than everybody else? Some people are more sensitive to sudden motions, spins, etc. My little brother (who is 8) gets motion sickness worse than me. How do I get my HDTV to display the same as the left side of the 1080p full-motion demo on the whole screen?

My new HDTV (pn50b860) has a feature called 1080p full-motion demo where it shows half of the screen normally and the other half of the screen shows movement absolutely crystal clear. I hope to see this all the time but understand if it is limited to a game or blu ray player.

Thanks for the help! How do I get my HDTV to display the same as the left side of the 1080p full-motion demo on the whole screen?I work in television and with all HD formats and different specs.(1080p, 720p, 1080i) Broadcast television will never be in full 1080p, it can't be. The reason it can't be is because only a 1080p television can display in 1080p, if you have a native 720p television, you wouldn't be able to see anything. The networks and cable networks would have to broadcast in both 1080p and 720p or 1080i which wouldn't make any sense, there isn't going to be a 1080p channel and then a 720p channel of the same thing. Try watching a bluray player set to 1080p on a native 720p HDTV, you won't see anything. All that talk about full 1080p HD is a marketing ploy to sell tvs so people believe they are getting "the absolute best quality" when in reality, unless you have bluray or a PS3 or XBOX 360, 1080p means nothing. Not to mention that there isn't much noticeable difference, you wouldn't be able to tell between 1080p, 720p, or 1080i anyway. How do I get my HDTV to display the same as the left side of the 1080p full-motion demo on the whole screen?Well right now no broadcaster is sending out 1080p, so it won't do a lick of difference for broadcast television. Maybe in the future when they upgrade the lines, but who knows when or if that will happen.

Likely this feature is only going to kick in for BluRay discs. That's really your only source of 1080p materials right now. And it might not work on all discs as not all of them may be 1080p (I think most should be, but everyone can be manufactured differently, so there's no guarantee).

But as its a Plasma TV its going to do a great job with motion all the time anyway. Whatever you feed it, it will do as good of a job with the motion as a TV can right now. If there are flaws then its more likely coming from what you're feeding it rather than anything to do with the TV.How do I get my HDTV to display the same as the left side of the 1080p full-motion demo on the whole screen? The point of a demo is to show you what is available in the TV.

Of course, the option for 1080p full motion is available for any source.

I am in Syracuse now and you can do that up here. Can you receive a parking ticket while your vehicle is in motion?Yes it is legal. The fact that you moved your vehicle after the officer saw you parked illegally does not invalidate the fact that an officer saw you parked illegally.

  • How many revolutions does the tub turn while it is in motion?

the tub os a washer goes into its spin cycle, starting from rest and gaining angular speed steadily for 8 sec, at which time it is turning at 5 rev/s. at this point, a person opens the lid and the safety turns off the washer. the tub smoothly slows to rest in 12 secs. through how many revolutions does the tub turn while it is in motion? How many revolutions does the tub turn while it is in motion?for spin up cycle, t = 8 , u = 0 , v = 10pi , 胃 = ?

    v = u + 伪t

    so, 伪 = (v - u)/t = 5pi/4

    胃 = 1/2 * 伪t^2 = 1/2 * 5pi/4 * 64 = 40pi = 40pi/2 revs = 20 revs

    for spin down cycle, t =12 , u = 10pi , v = 0 , 胃 = ?

    v = u + 伪t so, 伪 = - 5pi/6

    胃 = 1/2 * 伪t^2 = 1/2 * 5pi/6 * 144 = 60pi = 30 revs

so. total number of revolutions made by the tub is 20 + 30 = 50 revsHow many revolutions does the tub turn while it is in motion?
Total no.of revolutions = Average rev. x time.

    For the first 8s, total rev, = 5/2 *8 =20 revolutions.

    For the next 12 seconds, total rev. = - [5/2] *12 = - 30.

    Total revolutions = 20 - 30 = - 10 revolutions.

It has turned 10 revolutions in the direction opposite ( say anticlockwise) to the direction of rotation while the switch is on( say clockwise)

If we ignore directions then it has moved 20 revolutions in one direction and 30 revolutions in the opposite direction. How many revolutions does the tub turn while it is in motion?Use s = a t^2/2, once for the spin up, again for the spin down, and add.How many revolutions does the tub turn while it is in motion?
this sounds like a hands on experiment to me

hmmmmmmHow many revolutions does the tub turn while it is in motion? The initial angular frequency is w-o = 5*2pi = 10 pi (radians/sec)

The rate of decrease in angular frequency is = -10 pi/12

    = -5 pi/6

The angular frequency over time is then:

    w(t) = 10pi - 5pi*t/6

The angle covered is the integral:

    integral[10pi - 5pi*t/6] {t = 0, 12}

    = 10*pi*t - 5*pi*t^2/12 {t = 0, 12}

    = 12*10*pi - 5*pi*(12)^2/12

    = 120*pi - 60*pi

    = 60*pi

    Since one revolution = 2*pi

    the number of revolutions = 60*pi/(2*pi) = 30.

Friction is caused by the abbrasion between the object with the surface. The weight of the object and the force applied upon the object determine the friction that an object experiences. What is the cause of friction, and in what direction does it act with respect to the motion of a sliding objecFriction is actually caused by the Van der Waals forces between the atoms in the surface and the object that's moving. These are basically just attractive electromagnetic forces between the different atoms and molecules.

Frictional force is always in the opposite direction from the direction of motion.

The coefficient of friction (mu) is determined by the characteristics of the surface and the sliding (or rolling) object. The force of friction is equal to (mu) times N, where N is the normal (perpendicular to the sliding surface) component of the sliding object's weight.

  • How do i write a letter to object to a motion to vacate a default judgment?

My opponent didn't show up to court on time, so I got a default judgment in my favor. He showed up about an hour after call and asked the judge to vacate the default judgment, claiming he was late because of traffic. I am going to write a letter to object to the motion because I think he should have planned better and that i shouldn't be penalized for it. What kind of content should I include in the letter to make my case? Would the judge even consider granting his request because of his excuse? How do i write a letter to object to a motion to vacate a default judgment?Keep your response simple.

Probably, you lack the legal education and experience necessary to effectively fight this motion. He may win the motion. It just means that you will have to prove up the elements of your pleadings in trial.

Pro se plaintiffs have a difficult time because of the lack of knowledge of legal procedures. If this guy hires an attorney, it will be time to consult your own attorney. How do i write a letter to object to a motion to vacate a default judgment? The court will not consider your letter. If you want to oppose a motion, write an "opposition to motion to vacate default judgment," serve in on the opposing party and file it with the clerk. You should know that default judgments are not favored and that most courts will set aside a default for almost any reason. How do i write a letter to object to a motion to vacate a default judgment?I am not an attorney but I am assuming you have no legal experience also so when you write a letter asking the judge to oppose the motion to vacate, make sure to place the caption on the letter. A caption will include your name (versus) the defendant. It will also contain the name of the court and the section for which the court is held; it will contain the county it is in and the state as well.

For your paragraphs, list what you feel is evidence to prove your cause. Your cause being that had the defendant left at an appropriate time he/she would have made it to trial. If you know where the defendant lives, and you probably do since it should be stated in the petition (complaint); plan out a route for that person and check with the police to see if there were any accidents. If there was, then it might be reason enough for the judge to allow the motion. But if the person was simply lazy and left the house to late, then you might have a chance if you can prove it.

But I seriously doubt that a judge will rule against the motion to vacate because that judge will be stripping the rights of a person away without the chance to defend themselves.

Motion Detectors - What would work best for my situation?

Not long ago, one of my co-workers was mugged outside our workplace during the night hours. Since we have no real security and I'm currenty working their 3rd hours, I was hoping to invest in a small and cheap motion detector. I'd like one that I can conceal and alert me if anyone's outside our work entrance. I'd like to be quietly alerted with a seperate device that'd either light up or chime when activated. Anyone know of any good motion detectors that'd be ideal?Motion Detectors - What would work best for my situation? It all depends on what you mean by "cheap". There are motion detectors that will detect any and all objects moving across it's field of range including newspapers that the wind picks up. Then there are those that can only detect the heat of a body whether an animal or human, but can be adjusted to eliminate the infrared signature of an animal. These costs a little more. So you will have to define exactly which one you'd like. Is this for mounting outside on the building where you work? Here are two links that go from one extreme price wise to the other. Sorry, but motion sensors need to have a constant depth of field. It picks up the moving objects in a closed environment, like a room.

I have been thinking. Can you park your car directly in front of the back door?

If you can set a PIR in the grill at the front of the car, that can look at the back door.

There are PIRs (that look for movement and body heat so won't false alarm with newspaper in the wind). They can send a signal to an alarm that is powered by rechargeable battery.

It will cost a few hundred unless you know someone in the business but can be used in a home environment too.

(Don't drive around with it in the engine area, it may not like getting too hot)

How much does motion capture systems cost? (as if you were to install one for your owns tudio)?

Just curious about this. How much would the entire setup (and installation) cost for motion capturing for your own studio? (mocap)How much does motion capture systems cost? (as if you were to install one for your owns tudio)? There are many variations in both design and price. Vicon is probably the best. That's what they use at the Mocap Lab at the USC film school. I think it's maybe $20K at the low end and $50K at the high end. It also depends on whether or not you already have 3D animation software, and specifically which software. Your question can't be answered without a lot more background information. I suspect you're wondering if it's possible to do it on the cheap, and the answer depends on how good you are at programming and how much time you can spend inventing it.How much does motion capture systems cost? What does the Motion Plus do that the original Wii controller can't?

I just bought Wii Sports Resort with the motion plus. The gameplay still feels the same to me. I don't know what the differences are. Wii Sports Resort still feels like the same game. What does the Motion Plus do that the original Wii controller can't?Play bowling and golf on Wii sports that doesn't use M+ and then play those same games on Wii sports Resort with M+. The difference is huge. With all due respect if you can't feel the the difference when you do that then this post is a lie and you don't have Wii sports resort.

The Wiimote has one accelerometer in it to measure motion. The Wii MotionPlus has 3 accelerometers in it making the Wiimote 3 times as sensitive to motion and speed. With M+ the Wii can read the position, speed and location of your hands on a 3D plane. That couldn't be done three years ago when the system came out.

I got Tiger Woods 10 with M+ over a month ago and I love it. I tried it without M+ and I hated it. Without Wii MotionPlus if you pull your back swing back 6 inches in real life your in game player will pull his back swing back 3-4 feet. With M+ if you pull your back swing back 6 inches your in game player will pull his back 6 inches. A true 1 to 1. The level of control is unbelievable and well worth the money.

Playing a game without is like flying a paper airplane and playing a game with M+ is like flying a real airplane. That is the difference in control. I would NEVER play a game that could use M+ without it even if I could and once you try it you'll never want to either. What does the Motion Plus do that the original Wii controller can't?
The original remote can detect simple waggle. Motion Plus can detect the angle and movement speed of the remote almost a hundred percent accurately. There is also a shorter delay bewteen the actal swing and the movement on screen. The difference is huge and I can't imagine anyone not noticing it.

The sword fighting game in Wii Sports Resort would simply not be possible with the normal Wiimote. What does the Motion Plus do that the original Wii controller can't?Simply enough, it's an improved tilt sensor. Play bowling on Resort, then again on Wii Sports classic. Curving the ball is actually possible now. What does the Motion Plus do that the original Wii controller can't?
no diff just a waste of money

wii was suppose to make wii remotes do the same function add motion plus but they wanted to make some more mony and make motion plus an accesorieWhat does the Motion Plus do that the original Wii controller can't?A lot of stuff

  • What type of motion is experienced by a free falling object?

ex: uniform motion, uniform accelereation, or nonuniform acceleration?

or is it something else? What type of motion is experienced by a free falling object? If you don't take into account air resistance, I would call int uniform acceleration.

If you take into account air resistance, after uniform acceleration it reaches a terminal velocity, at which point its speed remains constant. Then it would be undergoing uniform motion.

Any range of motion lost after surgery considered permanent?

I had surgery 2 years ago, my shoulder and knee is still not as flexible as it was before. I'm doing Wrestling right now in High School and there is a technique where flexibility is needed. So, is any range of motion lost after surgery considered permanent?Any range of motion lost after surgery considered permanent?Sometimes it can be considered permanent, but the right physical therapy exercises can make a great difference.

What is the equal and yet opposite reaction of dying, in relation to newtons third law of motion.?

Sir Isaac newtons third law of motion states that to every action there is an equal yet opposite reaction. What then is the equal and yet opposite reaction of Dying. What is the equal and yet opposite reaction of dying, in relation to newtons third law of motion.?People love to take physics laws where the words have precise physical meaning, and then reinterpret them, giving the words the more vague meaning they have in everyday speech.

Newton's 3rd Law does not refer to every possible action, like buying a pizza. Newton's 3rd Law is the conservation of momentum. It means that if you give something momentum in one direction, you get an equal and opposite momentum in the opposite direction.

People do the same thing with Heisenberg's Uncertainty Principle and the Conservation of Energy. It drives me crazy. What is the equal and yet opposite reaction of dying, in relation to newtons third law of motion.?Action and reaction are an outdated set of terms for Newton's third law.

It is better to speak of forces.

When A exerts force on B, then B exerts a force on A, and B's force on A is equal and opposite to A's force on B.

That is to say, there are no "one way street" forces. All forces come in interaction pairs. What is the equal and yet opposite reaction of dying, in relation to newtons third law of motion.?Dying is not an action, it is the consequance of the human system failing to function. What is the equal and yet opposite reaction of dying, in relation to newtons third law of motion.?
